Entry #6 Americas Favorite Holiday

 Holidays

Now that the holiday season is right around the corner I wanted to do something a little more light-hearted. Have you ever wondered what the most popular holiday In the United States is? Probably not, It's Christmas. Everyone knows Christmas is the most popular holiday, from grandkids to grandma everyone loves Christmas. This is most likely because this holiday brings the whole family together. At least this is why the adults love it, the kids just like that they’re receiving all these nice gifts. In some households like mine, it is tradition to get together and have a big meal like some tamales, pozole, or even cook up another turkey. This is definitely the best part for me since you can be as gluttonous as possible and still end up with leftovers for the next week.

After Christmas, the second most popular holiday is Memorial Day according to Statista. I found this surprising since I was almost certain that It would be something like Halloween or Easter where people get candy. In my family we really don't do anything for Memorial Day, it's just an extended weekend in which we end up cooking up a hot meal. Most families just treat this like another version of Thanksgiving having a nice family meal I would imagine. Knowing this I can see why it's on top. It's just another day spent with family enjoying a nice hot meal which is essentially what all holidays boils down to. In summary, spend more time with your family or people you like while you still have them.
